Land Surveyor – Luxury Hotel & Resort Project, Caribbean

About the role

Gatesource HR is recruiting an experienced, detail-oriented Land Surveyor to support the development of a luxury hotel and resort project in the Caribbean. The surveyor ensures the accuracy of site measurements, layouts, elevations and construction positioning throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with engineers, contractors and project management teams in a challenging tropical and coastal environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct topographic, boundary and construction surveys, and perform setting out for buildings and foundations, roads and infrastructure, drainage, utilities and grading.
• Verify construction alignment, elevations and coordinates against approved drawings and specifications.
• Prepare and maintain survey records, reports, maps and site documentation; process field data into drawings and models.
• Support civil engineers and contractors by monitoring site movement, levels and earthworks, and helping resolve discrepancies between design plans and site conditions.
• Operate and maintain total stations, GPS/GNSS systems, levels and drones (preferred), and use surveying and drafting software.
• Support erosion monitoring and terrain assessment, and adapt operations to tropical weather and remote-site conditions.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering or a related discipline; professional surveyor certification or license is an advantage.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in land or construction surveying.
• Previous hospitality, infrastructure, island or remote site experience is highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently in remote environments and adapt to changing weather and site conditions.
